Can we talk about healthy hair? I'm a huge believer in "what's the point if it doesn't look good?". I know to some of us, our hair is our safety net. It's how we cover scars on our shoulders, or feel more feminine. But there are still ways to have healthy, pretty hair without chopping it.
First of all, starting at the root of the problem - literally. A healthy inside and healthy scalp will more than likely guarantee healthy hair! Much easier said than done, obviously, but I feel 100% better while taking vitamins, and my hair and skin are there to prove it. Scalp health is also a plus. I see some scary stuff on people's scalps that they never knew existed - dark moles, sun damage, flakes and blockage by too much oil. I recommend a cleansing shampoo once every so many shampoo sessions. I love the Aveda Brilliant shampoo for a mild cleanse to remove any build up and give tons of shine. For more severe scalp concerns, I highly recommend visiting your local dermatologist for a check up.
Express Keratin services work by infusing keratin back into our hair and giving it more strength, shine, and smoothness. It also helps relax strong waves and curls, without losing body and too much curl. It gradually fades out so you won't worry about an awkward grow out period or a line of demarcation. When I take after photos of keratin treatments, it always looks so dramatic and slick, but I promise your hair will bounce back in a happy, healthy feeling way!
Another service I like to offer to add shine and smoothness to the hair is doing a glaze, either on top of a color service, or on natural, uncolored hair. It adds a ton of shine, takes a little amount of time, isn't as heavy on the wallet as an Express Keratin treatment, and definitely not as dramatic as cutting off a bulk of hair!
